Why the frog?

QACE became associated with the frog in 2003 when the theme was "Take the Leap." That year's executive used the frog as their logo as it was a truly great representation of their theme. The frog embodied the entrepreneurial spirit and represented the leap many entrepreneurs take when they are starting a new business or advancing an already established firm. From that point on the frog has become a qace institution and a recognizable logo to many Queen's students. Year after year the frog has been a central part of qace promotions and will continue to be used as apart of the conference's branding strategy for years to come. Having a unique logo has also helped qace distinguish itself from other Queen's conferences and has become the inspiration for the conference's entrepreneurial culture and style.

frog [frog, frawg], noun:

  1. Any tailless, stout-bodied amphibian of the order Anura, including the smooth, moist-skinned frog species that live in a damp or semiaquatic habitat and the warty, drier-skinned toad species that are mostly terrestrial as adults.
  2. Also called true frog, ranid. Any frog of the widespread family Ranidae, most members of which are semiaquatic and have smooth, moist skin and relatively long hind legs used for leaping.
