Here are our speakers for this weekend in order of appearance.

Ryan Smolkin

Ryan Smolkin graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University in 1995 and shortly after established AmoebCorp, a graphic design and branding company based in Toronto. 

In 2008 Ryan founded Smoke’s Poutinerie with the goal to bring Canada’s iconic national dish to the rest of the world. Smoke’s has been recognized by receiving a number of awards including the Pinnacle award for company of the year from Food Service & Hospitality Magazine, the Hospitality Award for being the fastest growing company in Canada and the CFA Franchisees’ Choice Designation and Award of Excellence. 

Ryan has successfully opened over 100 Smoke’s franchises across Canada stretching from coast to coast.

Elijah Moore

Elijah Moore is a human resources entrepreneur with experience in investment banking and entrepreneurial endeavours. 

Elijah is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Collage HR, a platform developed in order to assist companies in their HR needs by handling their administrative tasks and paperwork. His goal is to help Canadian businesses to succeed by providing a service that decreases the time needed to be spent on tedious tasks.

Prior to founding Collage HR, Elijah was an associate at IBK Capital Corp, an independent and privately owned investment banking firm that offers financial advisory services to clients. Elija holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in Business Administration.

Louden Owen

Loudon Mclean Owen is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of McLean Watson Capital - a Venture Capital firm based out of Toronto. Mr. Owen oversees and guides all aspects of McLean Watson Capital’s work and investment strategy. 

Prior to this, he financed and advised a 3D animation company, Softimage, for its growth from 4 to 250 employees, to its IPO on Nasdaq in 1992, and the sale to Microsoft in 1994. During his time at Softimage he served as the joint Chief Operating Officer. Additionally, he founded a corporate law firm that specialized in representing growth companies after having practiced corporate or commercial and securities law with a major Canadian law firm.

 Mr. Owen’s career has spanned more than 25 years, during which he has both lead and actively participated in the growth of a host of successful businesses.

Sunil Sharma

Sunil Sharma, is the Co-Founder of one of Canada’s leading technology accelerators, Extreme Startups. With the support of 5 of Canada’s best venture capital funds, Sunil has actively co-lead investments into over 18 companies. 

Currently, he is a managing partner at Extreme Venture Partners, a venture capital fund with a focus on mobile. In addition to this, he serves as the Executive-in-Residence at one of the world’s most respected technology catalysts, Communitech at their Waterloo division, and is Co-Director of the Toronto chapter of The Founder Institute which is considered to be the world’s most global accelerator program for entrepreneurs.
